Congresso 2020

To all member Clubs and Friends,

The Fogolârs Federation of Canada, having taken to account the situation surrounding the COVID-19 PANDEMIC, has decided that the responsible and prudent decision going forward is to postpone FOGOLÂRS 2020 in FRIULI to the summer of 2021!

We are saddened to have to take this decision. The daily reports coming from public health agencies in Friuli and across Canada are of great concern and show that there is no way of knowing what the situation will be in July.

The Fogolârs Federation of Canada will now occupy itself to organize an exciting program for FOGOLÂRS 2021 in FRIULI. Hope to see you all in Friuli!

MANDI!

Joe Toso , President, Fogolârs Federation of Canada

Fogolârs Federation of Canada Joins ICAP

On April 6, 2018, the Fogolârs Federation of Canada became an institutional member of the Italian-Canadian Archives Project (ICAP). This is an important, significant step, which will strengthen and add to the Italian-Canadian narrative and help to preserve the Friulian record in Canada.

ICAP is working to develop and promote a national strategy to collect and preserve historical items that capture the Italian-Canadian experience. ICAP wants to facilitate and encourage individuals, families, societies and institutions that have materials in their possession to preserve these documents. They are part of our Canadian historical fabric.

The only organization of its kind with an academic focus, ICAP is holding a conference at the University of Calgary on August 24 and 25. A pre-tour of southwest Alberta and southeast BC, with stops in places where Italians made an impact, is also being organized. For further information, please read the information provided below.
